The 4th International Conference on Patient- and Family-Centered Care will showcase innovative health care programs that are committed to patient- and family-centered care and meaningful collaboration with patients and families. The three-day conference will feature formal and informal meetings, including plenary sessions, concurrent breakouts, round table discussions, workshops, a video theatre, and poster presentations.

Conference presenters and attendees represent a broad range of health care disciplines and fields of interest and include health care professionals as well as patient and family leaders. This variety is particularly encouraging, because only through collaboration—among patients, families, and health care providers and administrators—will patient- and family-centered care become a reality.

The 3rd International Conference on Patient- and Family-Centered Care Partnerships for Enhancing Quality and Safety

The 3rd International Conference on Patient- and Family-Centered Care Brochure

July 30-August 1, 2007
Seattle, Washington

The 3rd International Conference on Patient- and Family-Centered Care was a great success. We had approximately 1000 participants from all over the world. Many presenters left the audience spellbound... you could hear a pin drop during Margaret Murphy's moving presentation. Rosemary Gibson had the audience in her hands with her show and tell of a hospital gown and stories of how patients and families are crucial players in making health care safer, and Jack Davis gave insights into the workings of a CEO committed to patient- and family-centered care. The overwhelming reaction to the Conference is one of inspiration and motivation. Here's a sampling of comments from participants:

"Best conference I've been to in 23 years as an RN and 30 years working in hospitals."

"Transformational."

". . . a life-changing conference. It has been and will continue to be invaluable to me as I continue my education and my career."

". . . give[s] me the confidence I need in dealing with personal and family medical issues."

"Energizing, refreshing, exhilarating."

"I left the conference energized knowing there is more I can do to make sure our patients and families are partners in care."

"It was a life-changing event, both professionally and personally."

"By the far the best . . . truly inspiring."

"The international networking was valuable."

"This wonderful conference exceeded my expectations."

"The most valuable and inspiring conference I've attended in years."
